Ruth is the mother of Shannon Adama a.k.a. Shannon Adams.

In 58 BCH, she lives with her son-in-law Joseph Adama and her grandson William Adama on Caprica after the terrorist bombing of the Lev claims both her daughter's and her granddaughter's life (Caprica pilot). William refers to her by the affectionate term "Tsattie".
