Smokescreen is pilot of a Viper Mark VII during a skirmish against several Cylon Raiders as his ship, Pegasus are called to investigate a distress signal near Cylon space, as well as a missing battlestar, Chronos.

Outnumbered and having problems with his fighter, the pilot is killed in the fight (Battlestar Galactica: Pegasus (one shot)).
