Gunnery Sergeant Mathias is the Marine who leads Sharon Agathon's Marine escort on New Caprica as part of Admiral William Adama's rescue operation.

She and her team repel a Cylon ambush on a prelimary meeting between Agathon and the New Caprica Resistance under Samuel Anders. Later she accompanies the Resistance back to New Caprica City and discusses the rescue plan with all leaders, among them Saul Tigh, Laura Roslin and Tom Zarek. (Exodus, Part I).
