Carolanne Adama is the former wife of Commander William Adama, mother of Lee "Apollo" Adama and the late Zak Adama. Other than how she relates to these influential men, little is known about her.

Biography

Her father was friends with an important member of the Defense Subcommittee; it was partly through this connection that her husband was able to reinstate both himself and Saul Tigh in the Colonial Fleet after their post-war furlough. (Scattered)

Due to William Adama's commitments to the Colonial Fleet, Adama raised both children by herself. The strain of William's absence and his committment to the Colonial Fleet caused the Adamas' eventual divorce.

Adama and her husband had little contact since their divorce. At the time of the Cylon Attack, Lee Adama tells his father that she was getting married (Miniseries). It is presumed that Carolanne Adama perished in the Cylon attack, but this cannot yet be confirmed from aired sources.

Notes

  • Carolanne Adama was first referred to as "Caroline Adama" in the first season episode "Act of Contrition". In the second season episode "Scattered", during a flashback to William Adama and Saul Tigh's days aboard a tramp freighter, Tigh refers to Adama's "new wife" as "Anne", leading to speculation that William had divorced and remarried by the time he rejoined the fleet. This speculation was put to rest with the third season episode "The Passage", where William Adama's wife was referred to as "Carolanne" for the first time.
  • A season 3 episode is expected to discuss more about Carolanne Adama's life.
  • Carolanne Adama's counterpart in the Original Series is Ila.
