Nomion's 3rd Sonata is a work of classical Colonial music composed by Stu Nomion sometime before 58 BCH. It is comprised of three movements: Pascaglia, Allegro and Variations.

Computer scientist Daniel Graystone occasionally plays it on the piano in his home lab (CAP: "Rebirth"). It is also played by composer and performer Dreilide Thrace as a "touchstone" whenever he experiences writer's block (TRS: "Someone to Watch Over Me").

Notes

  • The music originally appeared in the opening of each episode in the original Battlestar Galacticaseries ("There are some who believe life here, began out there...").
  • Other original series music has also appeared in the re-imagined continuity, in the form of the Colonial Anthem.
  • According to Bear McCreary, Stu Nomion is the in-universe representation of Stu Phillips, the Original Series's composer[1].
