Opelon is a mineral rich asteroid discovered by Jaspar.

After encountering the Cylons, Jaspar and his simian, Nugget, fled the asteroid in the Golden Queen, leaving the asteroid to Baltar and Lucifer. According to Lucifer, the planetoid has enough material to create a millennium of weapon circuitry, while Baltar noted that it was the richest ore deposit in the galaxy (I Have Seen Earth).
