The laser range is a facility that allows Colonial Warriors to maintain their small arms proficiency.

One such facility is on Galactica, where it is frequented by Warriors such as Starbuck, Jolly and Greenbean.

After using the laser range on Galactica, it is procedure to fully recharge the laser pistol before leaving the range (TOS: "Murder on the Rising Star").

In Other Media

Starbuck and Xam face holographic Centurions in Galactica's laser range ((ComicsClassic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #7)).

Galactica's laser range is routinely used to maintain and improve laser pistol proficiency of all able persons, including reservists, in the event the ship is boarded by Cylons. Colonial Warriors are responsible for training non-Warrior personnel, and in that capacity Starbuck is paired with Xam ((ComicsClassic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #7)).

The range itself projects holographic, computer-controlled targets in the form of Centurions, and computers measure and report on statistics of each participant ((ComicsClassic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #7)).
