Sunshine is one of the children born during the thirty year flight from the Twelve Colonies of Man.

Born on a ship, she and other children in the Galactican Fleet are instructed on the school ship Delphi. In 1980, she and eleven other children are the first to settle on Earth, becoming the first Super Scouts; she is the first to smell a flower on Earth after she exits the shuttle ^{(1980: "The Super Scouts, Part I")}.

With her other Super Scouts, she is a member of Billy Eheres' Polecats and helps win the game, thus securing their safety from Xaviar and sponsors for Eheres's camp ^{(1980: "Spaceball")}.
