General Cushing is the United States Air Force officer who reports to the President of the United States regarding the detection of Troy and Dillon's Vipers in 1980 CE.
Cushing subsequently launches fighters to intercept the Vipers, who subsequently turbo away leaving the interceptors befuddled (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part I").

In the novelization by Michael Resnick, this character is named General Tucker Wilson in a news clipping. His aide is Colonel Henry Becksworth Davies.[1]
