Overview
In an interview with the Seattle Times, Ron Moore has confirmed that the first episode of season three will not take place immediately after the previous season finale (like "Scattered" did), but skip ahead a few more months to when the Cylon occupation is in full swing, and an insurgency has already developed.
A four-page excerpt from this episode is available as a side for the role of Selloi Dedona [1] from the website nowcasting.com. From this, the following information about this episode can be gleaned. Bear in mind that any of these plot points may change before the episode airs:
- Selloi Dedona is a human oracle, whom cylon D'anna Biers consults. She asserts that Biers has lost her faith in the cylon God, which Biers denies. Dedona tells Biers that Hera, the hybrid daughter of Sharon Valerii (Caprica copy) and Karl Agathon is still alive. She claims the message originates with the cylon God himself, and also warns Biers to remember the story of Medusa, predicting a similar downfall.
- Ellen Tigh is having a sexual affair with someone at a place referred to as the "Cylon planning office".
- Samuel Anders and Galen Tyrol are part of a human resistance movement. They successfully detonate a bomb near a Heavy Raider, destroying it and numerous Cylon Centurions and copies of cylon agents number five, six, and eight.
- Laura Roslin and Tory Foster review reconnaissance photos of a police force composed of human collaborators, which appears to be about 200-strong, 50 of which can be identified by name. Roslin is apparently concerned with documenting collaborators and resistance fighters, pending William Adama's return.
- Some fans have inferred that one of Saul Tigh's eyes is injured in this episode, based on a reference to "his eye" in the singular [2], [3], [4], [5]. This has been the source of considerable fan controversy, so the relevant passage is excerpted below for reference purposes:
Tigh says nothing. Won't even look at him. Cavil reaches into a pocket and takes out a TOOTHBRUSH, a WASHCLOTH, and a BAR of SOAP. BROTHER CAVIL (cont'd) Brought you some things. Might as well be comfortable as long as you're here, right? Tigh closes his eye, trying not to slide into hopelessness as he realizes this means he's going to be here a long time.
According to call sheet posted to TrekBBS, Tigh will be released from the detention facility later on in this episode.
