On the first leg of their journey, the Fleet is lured to the planet Carillon for fuel and relaxation—and barely survives a trap by the Ovions, an underground, insectoid species in league with the Cylons. Summary Herded into a confined area of space, the The Fleet must pass within close range of a lethal Cylon pulsar cannon—unless an expedition from [[Galactica (TOS)|] can assault the ice-bound fortress housing the weapon. Apollo, Starbuck, and Boomer lead a team of cut-throat demolitions and cold-weather experts (and the stowaway Boxey). Along they way, they encounter the misguided human scientist who originally built the weapon, as well as his legions of clones. Quote Adama: There's not all that much difference between you and your fellow convicts and us. We are all living for the promise of freedom, and we're all threatened by a similar death. Wolfe: Perhaps it was the chains that made the difference.

Summary Herded into a confined area of space, the Fleet must pass within close range of a lethal Cylon pulsar cannon—unless an expedition from Galactica can assault the ice-bound fortress housing the weapon. Apollo, Starbuck, and Boomer lead a team of cut-throat demolitions and cold-weather experts (and the stowaway Boxey). Along they way, they encounter the misguided human scientist who originally built the weapon, as well as his legions of clones. Quote Baltar: Have our fighters engaged the Galactica? 10	The Living Legend, Part I (Talk)	November 26, 1978
Summary Galactica is reunited with Pegasus, a sister battlestar previously thought destroyed. Led by the legendary and sometimes arrogant Commander Cain, the fleet is torn in its loyalty between Adama and Cain. Quote Centurion: Sir, I suggest you look at the other battlestar. Baltar: That's impossible! Centurion: No, it is a battlestar.
11	The Living Legend, Part II (Talk)	December 3, 1978
Summary After Pegasus thwarts Baltar's attack on the Fleet, Commanders Adama and Cain plan to attack Gamoray for its desperately needed fuel supplies, in the midst of this is a visit from the Imperious Leader himself. Quote With support troops like this, who needs Cylons? — Starbuck

13	War of the Gods, Part I (Talk)	January 14, 1979
Summary As Viper pilots go missing, Apollo, Starbuck and Sheba come across a lone, enigmatic survivor. Much to their amazement, he claims that he can help them in their quest. Quote Iblis: You're searching for a place called Earth. Adama: My son told you that. Iblis: You are of the House of Kobol. Your tribes are scattered. The Thirteenth journeyed to Earth several millennia ago. Adama: Tell me about their civilization. Iblis: It has known great rises and falls. Adama: Who are you? Where are you from? (a pause, then:) Is their civilization strong enough to help us defeat the Cylons? Iblis: Your people will be safe... under my leadership. Adama: Did I hear you correctly? Did you say under your leadership? Iblis: Of course, Adama. Why do you think I'm here? I've come to prepare your way to Earth.

Summary When Starbuck is implicated in a rival Triad-player's murder, Apollo and Boomer come to his defense as Protectors. They eventually uncover a plot involving Karibdis, a traitor who aided Baltar in the destruction of the Twelve Colonies. Quote All right, Starbuck. Summary A human sleeper ship found drifting in space is brought aboard Galactica, leading to argument and debate on whether to awaken its occupants. Summary Joining forces with the imprisoned Borellians and the Eastern Alliance detainees, Baltar escapes from the prison barge, hijacks a shuttle, and kidnaps members of the ruling council. 19	Experiment in Terra (Talk)	March 18, 1979
Summary The mysterious bright lights return again, transporting the bewildered Apollo to the planet Terra to avert war with the Eastern Alliance. Exposing a plan by the devious president, Apollo has Starbuck warn Galactica, which lends the protective powers of its shields to avoid planetary holocaust. Quote Apollo: That's very funny. At least you have a sense of humor. John: In my job, dealing with primitive cultures, it's an absolute necessity.
20	Take the Celestra (Talk)	March 1, 1979
Summary Starbuck encounters long-lost love Aurora amidst a mutinous rebellion aboard the Celestra. Quote The morale of the fleet continues to rise, due in part to the increasing number of habitable planets we are encountering, and the reintroduction of some of the amenities our people enjoyed before the destruction of the colonies. Once again, although on a limited scale, we are able to partake of music, and the theater, and, when the occasion warrants, even indulge ourselves in ceremony. — Adama
21	The Hand of God (Talk)	March 29, 1979
Summary Commander Adama decides to quit running from the Cylons, and launches an all-out attack on a basestar. Quote Colonel Tigh: She [the basestar] carries three hundred fighters. Has two long range mega pulsars... here... and here. And over a hundred defensive laser turrets. She's an orbiting killer... capable of destroying every ship we have... including the Galactica. Starbuck: (to Boomer) That's what I like about the Colonel... his optimism.
