Overview
- Admiral William Adama questions whether or not Sharon Valerii's pregnancy should be aborted. Meanwhile Roslin's health declines rapidly as a pro-Cylon peace group attempts to sow civil disobedience within the Fleet.
Summary
- President Laura Roslin is brought on board Galactica. She is near death and has, at best, days to live.
- Captain Kara Thrace and Lieutenant Louanne Katraine are conducting Viper tests. During a test of the Viper's projectile systems, Kat's port turret is destroyed and a piece of it impacts on Thrace's cockpit. Thrace requests priority landing; both Vipers land.
- Cally comes across three rounds of faulty ammunition, ammunition that is lighter than normal. Thus when two rounds collide an explosion occurs. Tyrol highly suspects sabotage.
- The investigation leads Lee Adama and Kara Thrace to a civilian worker who manufactures the ammo. When she is apprehended, she declares her alleigence to a pacifist organization that wants peace with the Cylons.
On Caprica Prior to the Cylon Attack
- Roslin finds out she has cancer
- Roslin meets with President Adar to discuss a teacher's strike, and his response.
- Roslin meets with the leader of the teacher's union, and strikes an agreement.
- Adar disagrees with Roslin's methods and results, and asks for her resignation.
- Roslin then leaves for Galactica's decommisioning ceremony, telling Adar that "If you want my resignation when I get back, be prepared to fight for it."
Questions
Analysis
- At the end, we are shown that the bomb Dr. Baltar gave the resistance was the nuclear warhead he was given to create his Cylon Detector.
- Sharon's baby's blood was used to apparently destroy the cancerous masses in Roslin's system. The procedure to abort Sharon's fetus was not performed.
- The survivor count this episode is 49,598, a net loss of six since Resurrection Ship, Part II. Admiral Cain and the Pegasus marine killed by Gina account for two. Presumably the remaining were pilots or crew lost during the attack on the Resurrection Ship.
Notes
- This episode takes place between 189 and 191 days after the Cylon attack on the colonies.
- Lee Adama is once again a Captain, and has been reinstated as Galactica's CAG.
- Gina is apparently a member of the pro-Cylon resistance. The other members of the resistance are unaware she is a Humano-Cylon.
- Roslin apparently was in an intimate relationship with President Adar.
- Roslin sees Dr. Baltar in an intimate moment with Number Six on Caprica, prior to the attacks.
