Doctor Zee examines the Voyager probe aboard Rising Star (Galactica 1980 1).

The Voyager spacecraft is an unmanned probe whose mission is to seek out life in the universe and "announce" the presence of Earth to the universe at large.

In 1980 C.E., Galactica Warriors Troy and Dillon encounter a Voyager scientific probe while on patrol. After delivering it to Doctor Zee on Rising Star, Zee deciphers the golden audio disc in the craft, learning about the primitive state of Earth's social and scientific development and Earth's location (Galactica 1980 1).

It remains unknown which of the Voyager spacecraft the Colonials encounter.
