Colonel[1] Mason is the United States Air Force officer who oversees the removal of the three Galactican Vipers that landed in a meadow where Willie Griffin played.
He asks Griffin to keep the secret of the craft, but fails to do so as the boy ultimately tells Troy and Dillon that the crafts were brought to Van Nuys A.N.G. Base. While the Galacticans, including Xaviar, recover their craft, Mason brings Dr. Donald Mortinson to the base, arriving just after all the craft are gone (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part III").

Notes
edit- The name for this character comes from the name plate on the character's uniform, which can be seen briefly as Mason bends down to talk to Willie Griffin in the meadow.
