General Cushing is the United States Air Force officer who reports to the President of the United States regarding the detection of Troy and Dillon's Vipers.

Cushing subsequently launches fighters to intercept the Vipers, who subsequently turbo away leaving the interceptors befuddled (Galactica Discovers Earth, Part I).
