The Delphi Union High School was a high school near the Caprican city of Delphi circa 0 ACH (2000BYR).
The structures and campus survive the Cylon nuclear holocaust and become a base of operations for the anti-Cylon resistance movement led by Samuel Anders.
At the beginning, over 100 people reside in the structures, as the location was believed to provide good cover from the Cylons, who did not attack it initially. 46 days after the attack, those numbers dwindle to 53, when Karl "Helo" Agathon and Kara "Starbuck" Thrace encounter the resistance raiding an armory 18 kilometers north of the school. For recreational purposes, Anders and his teammates from the Caprica Buccaneers construct a makeshift Pyramid court in the school's courtyard (TRS: "Resistance").
Unbeknownst to Anders, two Cylon agents were part of the resistance and resided at the camp, including the Caprican Buccaneers' doctor and a priest (TRS: "The Plan"). During Thrace's involvement with the resistance, Anders hides the Arrow of Apollo in a storm drain on site (TRS: "The Farm").
Nine months after the Cylon occupation began, the Cylons attack the base, killing half the resistance's remaining personnel and forcing them to flee into the surrounding woodlands.[1] (TRS: "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I" and "The Plan")
Notes
edit- According to the teaser of the extended cut of "Pegasus," which was repeated in the recap at the beginning of the episode "Scar," the school is located 300 kilometers (187.5 miles) north of the only Cylon airbase in the area. This could refer to the airbase in Delphi itself that Karl "Helo" Agathon and Caprica-Sharon try to infiltrate in "Colonial Day."
Behind the scenes
editTwo separate real-world locations were used to represent the Delphi Union High School and resistance base, as the original filming site was demolished between productions.
For "Resistance" and "The Farm" (Season 2), the base camp was filmed at 541A Street, Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The structures at this location were demolished after Season 2 wrapped.[production 1]
For The Plan (2009), with the Maple Ridge location no longer available, the resistance base camp scenes were instead filmed at the Northlawn Building on the Riverview Hospital campus, 2601 Lougheed Highway, Coquitlam, British Columbia.[production 2] The Northlawn Building — one of the original institutional structures on the Riverview campus — also served as the exterior of Kara Thrace's hospital in "The Farm" and as the Cylon base interior in The Plan itself.

Notes
edit- ↑ This is elaborated in deleted scenes from "The Plan," where the "Heroes of the Cylon" convince Wheeler and a splinter of other survivors that they will be safe, but with Number One having orchestrated a betrayal that results in an attack by Centurions that ties to Anders' statement.
