Walt Davis (born Walter Davis Goodrich; February 9, 1929 – September 21, 1981) was an American actor and stuntman who portrayed Vickers in the Original Series two-part episode "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero."

Career

Born in Fairfield, Michigan, Davis began his screen career in 1955 with an appearance in the musical Love Me or Leave Me. His early work included a role as "Blue Boy" in the 1958 film adaptation of South Pacific, the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical that became one of the highest-grossing films of its era.

Davis established himself as a prolific character actor in 1960s television, with his most substantial recurring role being in the World War II drama series Combat! (1962–1967). He appeared in 73 episodes of the series, portraying various German soldiers and American servicemen, making him one of the show's most frequently appearing guest actors. In addition to his extensive acting work on Combat!, Davis also served as a stunt double for lead actor Rick Jason in at least one episode during the show's later seasons.

Davis had three notable appearances in the original Star Trek series during its first season (1966–1967). He portrayed a therapist in "Dagger of the Mind," a Romulan crewman in "Balance of Terror," and a Klingon soldier in "Errand of Mercy" – the latter episode featuring John Colicos in his debut performance as Kor.

Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Davis maintained a steady career in television, appearing in popular series including Mission: Impossible (1967–1970), Emergency! (1973–1976), The Bionic Woman, Wonder Woman, Hawaii Five-O, and Magnum, P.I. His film work during this period included roles in Nevada Smith (1966), The Cheyenne Social Club (1970), F.I.S.T. (1978), and the 1978 television film Spider-Man Strikes Back.

In his later career, Davis continued working in both acting and stunt capacities until his death in 1981. His final credited role was in the television miniseries Scruples (1981).

Personal life

Davis was married to actress Mary Lou Clifford, who appeared in films including The King and I (1956) and Around the World in 80 Days (1956).

Davis died on September 21, 1981, in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 52.
