Brett Somers (July 11, 1924—September 15, 2007 in New Brunswick, Canada) is a Canadian-American actor.
Somers is well-known to most American television viewers as a panelist in the long-running CBS daytime and syndicated game show, Match Game, often serving as comedic foil to actor and fellow panelist Charles Nelson Reilly.
Somers has enjoyed minor roles in several classic television shows, including Ben Casey, The Fugitive, Have Gun - Will Travel, The F.B.I., Barney Miller and the Mary Tyler Moore Show.
Somers most enduring recurring role was as Blanche Madison, the ex-wife of Oscar Madison (played by Somers's husband, Jack Klugman) in The Odd Couple. Klugman and Somers separated in 1974, but did not divorce.
Somers portrayed Siress Belloby in the Original Series episode, "The Magnificent Warriors".
Somers has performed in New York nightclub shows as of 2003. She resided in Westport, Connecticut in 2005.
She passed away due to colon and stomach cancer.[1]
