The Mother is the leader of the religion in the Twelve Colonies of Kobol that worships the one true God, based in a mountain range on Gemenon.

She authorizes Obal Ferras to dispose of STO leader Clarice Willow given his belief that apotheosis is "blasphemy", but Willow manages to turn the assassination attempt back against Ferras. The Mother watches Ferras' death from a balcony before leaving, upset. She then meets with Willow and authorizes her to take control of all STO cells on Caprica so that the plan for apotheosis can be carried out (CAP: "Unvanquished").

Mother later comes to visit STO training camp leader Diego in his "rustic" living quarters. Disturbed by her connections to Clarice Willow and her apparent ability to control U-87 Cyber Combat Units smuggled to Gemonon by the Ha'la'tha, Mother suggests that an accident might befall Lacy Rand during training. As a way of further securing Diego's loyalty, Mother gives him the ring that belonged to Obal Ferras (CAP: "The Heavens Will Rise").

Spoiler follows, highlight to read.
In the final montage of the series finale, it is revealed that the Mother has been deposed by Lacy Rand, who led a successful coup against the church leadership using the U-87s. Rand herself has taken on the position of "Mother," with Odin Sinclair serving as her lieutenant. (CAP: "Apotheosis").
