John de Lancie (born March 20, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is an American actor.

De Lancie's filmography begins with several minor roles in now-classic 1970s television shows such as McMillan and Wife, The Six Million Dollar Man, Emergency!, and Barnaby Jones.

For the first half of the 1980s, de Lancie had a regular role on the television soap, Days of Our Lives.

His recurring role as the mysterious omnipotent alien being known only as "Q" in Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987 greatly increased the actor's visibility and projects. De Lancie would reprise his role as "Q" in episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Star Trek: Voyager.

De Lancie also has many screen credits in other SF shows such as Andromeda, Stargate SG-1, MacGyver and Charmed. De Lancie also performs voice-over acting in animated programming such as Batman.

De Lancie played an Eastern Alliance officer in a minor role in the Original Series episode, "Experiment in Terra".
