This is a chronological list of battles in Galactica 1980. Exact dates are noted in Earth time and are based off the Fleet's arrival in the year 1980 CE.
This timeline follows the implication given in 1980 that Colonial time units and Earth time units are exact, interchangeable analogues; e.g., 1980 CE is the year 7378 on the Colonial calendar. See Timeline (1980) for additional details.

- ↑ It is unknown in what order the battles of the Thousand-Yahren War took place, only that the Battle of Cimtar was last, as it represented the end of the war and the final defeat of the Twelve Colonies.

- ↑ This battle occurs roughly two yahrens prior to the Battle of Cimtar.
- ↑ In order to account for the interception of the Apollo 11 transmission, which is first sent on July 20, 1969, this battle would have to occur 19 years into the Galactican Fleet's voyage. This assumption is absurd, however, as this would mean that the character moments in "The Hand of God" would have to be discounted. Ergo, this is a massive continuity error—and, to rectify this, the character drama between Starbuck and Cassiopeia, and Apollo and Sheba, would have to be ignored. Also, given that Starbuck is later abandoned on Planet Starbuck in "The Return of Starbuck", which transpires roughly 10 years before reaching Earth, it would have had to occur between late 1969 to 1970 CE. As radio waves travel at the speed of light in space, Galactica would have to be very close to Earth—well under or around one-light year away. Also, some form of amplification of the radio signal may have occurred in order for the transmission to be intercepted by Galactica during that time.
