Adama is the commander of the battlestar Galactica and military leader of the fugitive Fleet.

In the aftermath of an engine malfunction aboard Freighter Eighteen, Adama orchestrates the rescue of its passengers. He later devises a counter-plan against the Cylons by reverse-engineering their own impulse microvator technology. During the crisis, he personally captures the Cylon-controlled Captain Heffren by knocking him unconscious (ComicsLook-In Magazine: Storyline 1).[1][2]

When a promising planet named Thar is discovered, Adama leads Galactica to investigate. After his son Apollo disappears on the planet, a Council of War votes to attack a mysterious alien ship against his wishes. Trusting Athena's intuition that Apollo is alive, Adama countermands the order and calls off the attack (ComicsLook-In Magazine: Storyline 2).[3]

Adama manages the Fleet's response to an outbreak of Parahelial Fever, and later receives an ultimatum from the Imperious Leader when Apollo is captured along with the transport Orestes (ComicsLook-In Magazine: Storyline 3).[4]

After losing contact with an exploratory mission to the planet Zaroak, Adama dispatches a rescue party led by Boomer (ComicsLook-In Magazine: Storyline 4).[5]
