Brenda Maxwell is the daughter of career Nationalist military officer General Maxwell. Prior to his disappearance, Brenda was romantically involved with Colonel Charlie Watts.

Encounter with Apollo

edit source

Maxwell first meets Apollo, who appears as Watts to any Terrans, under the impression that she was phoned. She picks up "Charlie," noting that he is confused (as Apollo knew nothing of Terra), and takes him back to her apartment. During the initial conversation, Apollo is so disoriented and doesn't pick up on her remark about him having amnesia; he believes it to be her name.

Concerned about Charlie, Maxwell contacts the Nationalist Security force, where Brace then takes Apollo. Her father later arrives, lambasting her for her involvement with "Charlie," and the fact that she called the security force. However, they are also taken to the Nationalist government building.

Incarcerated together, Apollo and Starbuck manage to convince the Terrans that they are indeed from another galaxy.

Starbuck has Maxwell drive him to the site where he landed, aiming to prove that they are indeed "extraterrestrial." Despite managing to find the Viper, almost before it was too late, Maxwell couldn't believe that the story was true (TOS: "Experiment in Terra").

General Maxwell is a career military officer for the Nationalists of Terra as well as father to Brenda Maxwell, his only child apparently. He knows Colonel Charlie Watts, and probably is his superior, along with Colonel Stone, whom he calls "Stoney". He has some sort of friendship with President Arends, whom he is forced to investigate later on after Arends began shutting out the Nationalist Precedium. He attempts to bypass the Eastern Alliance forces of Lunar One to gather intelligence on the happenings there. His reconnaissance mission fails and he returns to Terra.

After returning to Terra, he visits his daughter who told him that Charlie (actually Apollo) is also back on Terra. With this knowledge, he has vital information to report. However, Brace and his officers take "Charlie" away after Brenda contacts them. He chastises her, not that it mattered, as he and Brenda are captured and brought to "Charlie." Apollo tries to convince the three Terrans that he isn't Charlie Watts, but fails until Starbuck rescues them.

General Maxwell, Stone and the Warriors attempt to get an audience with President Arends, but are unable to do so alone. In front of the entire Precedium, he (and, later on, Apollo) attempts to convince Arends and the Precedium members that the Nationalists would not agree to the peace treaty. Sure enough, they are right. As the Alliance starts their attack, Maxwell derisively tells Arends to frame the treaty fast because they would all be dead within six minutes.

Galactica, however, manages to destroy all the nuclear weaponry, scaring the Alliance into accepting the peace accord. When Maxwell tries to thank Apollo and solicit Colonial technology, John pulls him out of the Precedium (TOS: "Experiment in Terra").

Odin Maxwell is a professor at Caprica University.

Twelve years prior to the Fall of the Twelve Colonies, Maxwell works in Caprica University's Department of Advanced Science and becomes Gaius Baltar's mentor. Under Maxwell's tutelage, Baltar ascends into a professor at the university, advocating a lift of the ban against artificial intelligence.

Maxwell, who also sits on the Magnate Prize board, nominates Baltar, resulting in his first win of that award.

Later, Baltar and Maxwell part ways after Baltar gives up his position at Caprica Univeristy, which leads him to work on the Command Navigation Program project for the Ministry of Defense. Sometime later, Maxwell leaves the university himself, and along the way somehow learns of the Cylons evolution, attempting to warn Baltar that he's a pawn to the Cylons' plans.

Maxwell and Baltar meet for one last time, when Baltar visits his apartment in Caprica City's Red Light District and uncovers the squalid conditions his professor lives in. After discovering various scriblings on the wall and an unhealthy fascination with Cylons, Baltar runs off, leaving Maxwell to chase him into the night. Caprica-Six, who apparently followed Baltar to the rendezvous, pursues Maxwell, who manages to mortally wound Six after shooting at her. Six kills him before dying herself ((ComicsBattlestar Galactica: Origins #2)), and having her consciousness transfer to a resurrection facility ((ComicsBattlestar Galactica: Origins #3)).
