A psycho-electron recall may be a special scan to aid a human in recalling lost or repressed memories.

• The Cylons have a similar technology, introduced in "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part I" as the brain probe. In addition, the Marvel comic series has a device named the memory inducer, which allows for the retrieval of old memories, or memories that are not otherwise retrievable.
