Ron Nyman (12 May 1924 CE―16 September 2000 CE) is an England-born actor who portrayed the uncredited role of Voight in Original Series' "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part I", "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero, Part II" . His appearance was identified with the assistance of computer-aided facial recognition.
Nyman's prior credited appearances include numerous Glen A. Larson series, including Mannix, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, and Quincy, M.E.
Nyman began his career as a background performer in various films, including Cecil B. DeMille's second The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston, circa 1952 CE. Other notable background work of Nyman's can be seen in various Marilyn Monroe films, including but not limited to Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Seven Year Itch, and There's No Business Like Show Business.
His later genre appearance include The Twilight Zone, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, and the 1960s television series Batman.
According to his niece Debbie Nyman[1], his film and television career ended due to an unspecified injury sustained during filming the two-parter, which prevented his working under studio lighting.[2] It is believed that his scenes were minimized to mainly background as a result. His lack of credit for the episode may suggest an attempt to distance the production from any legal issue, given the looming legal issues raised and levied against the Original Series by Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd.
He died on 16 September 2000 in California from unreported causes.
