'Terry Carter is an American actor who portrayed Colonel Tigh in the original Battlestar Galactica.
Born December 16 in Brooklyn, New York, Terry Carter has had a distinguished career in television, film and theater. Carter already had many credits in theater and radio before becoming one of the privates of Sergeant Bilko's platoon in the 1950's Phil Silvers Show. In that role, he was one of the few African-Americans appearing on TV screens in the United States in the 1950s.
