Sidney Clute (born April 21, 1916-died October 2, 1985) was an American television actor who portrays General "Stoney" Stone in Experiment in Terra.

After early training in summer stock, Clute came to Hollywood in the 1950s and made his television debut in The Adventures of Superman with George Reeves. Other TV credits include appearances on Playhouse 90, McCloud, Dragnet and Lou Grant.

From 1982 until his death in 1985, Clute played Detective Paul LaGaurdia on Cagney And Lacey. In tribute to him, his name remained in the opening cast credits for the final three years of the show's run after his death.
