Additional Information

The Cylon Resurrection Hub is a space-borne facility which coordinates the resurrection process among all of the Cylon Resurrection Ship and downloading facilities, with what appears to be an indefinite operational range between itself and the other ships of the fleet. Since it the only vessel of its kind, it is vital for the function of Cylon society. As a safeguard, the Hub periodically jumps to new locations and relays its position to the baseships' Hybrids once completed. The Resurrection Hub is also where boxed Cylon consciousnesses are stored.

At the start of the Cylon Civil War, Natalie plans to unbox Number Three, in the hopes of learning the identities of the Final Five (The Ties That Bind). However, the Cavil faction gains the upper hand in the conflict and claims the Hub first. When the Demetrius to the human fleet with the renegade basestar, Natalie offers Admiral Adama and President Roslin the chance to destroy the Hub in return for their help unboxing Three. Before the plan is carried out, however, Natalie is shot by Sharon Agathon and the basestar jumps away when Roslin, determined to get some answers about her visions, has the Hybrid reconnected (Guess What's Coming To Dinner).

The Hybrid follows the Hub, jumping ever closer to it, and eventually catches up. The shaky alliance between Cylons and Colonials is forced to quickly implement a plan. The rebels' Heavy Raiders tow the Colonial Viper into battle, in order to stay undetected. Untethered, they manage to attack the Hub's FTL drives which are disabled by two missiles fired by Lieutenant Pike from a Raptor, thus stranding it. As the rebel baseship fights off the two defending baseships, Karl Agathon and a Number Eight board the Hub to get to the unboxed Three. Afterwards the Vipers fire nuclear missiles, destroying the Resurrection Hub and at least one of the two nearby basestars (The Hub).

With its destruction, Cylon resurrection is now lost and the humanoid Cylons are mortal, until the time a new Hub may constructed, although it is not known if this is possible.[1]

  1. In her conversations with the Fleet's leadership and the Quorum in "Guess What's Coming To Dinner?", Natalie implies that the Hub cannot be reconstructed. The reasons for this are not elaborated upon.
