Note: This episode is the two-hour pilot for the Caprica TV series, the spin-off of the Re-imagined Series produced by Remi Aubuchon, Ronald D. Moore, David Eick for the Syfy Channel. It was released on DVD prior to being aired on television. Quote Joseph Adama: I want you to know who you are. Summary Zoe's attachment to the Cylon Prototype makes it difficult for Daniel and his company to duplicate success with other U-87 units. Amanda looks into her daughter's life and finds that she barely knew the real Zoe. Sister Clarice invites Lacy for dinner, as Sam begins to exert a bad influence on his nephew. Quote Drew: Great piece of engineering. Philomon: Yeah, I know. She gives me the chills. Drew: [glares at Philomon] "She?" Dude, stop feminizing it. It's weird. It's unnatural. Philomon: I don't think there's anything wrong with feminizing it. Drew: Nothing wrong with it? It's not a person. It's useful. Just a tool.

Summary Daniel Graystone attempts damage control in light of his wife's false revelation that their daughter was one of the suicide bombers of Maglev 23. Meanwhile, Joseph Adama continues his pursuit of seeing the Tamara avatar again while Willie Adama and Sam Adama continue to bond. Quote Daniel Graystone: Scandals are sunburns, Cyrus; they fade. Summary Daniel readies himself for his appearance on Backtalk with Baxter Sarno. The GDD carry out searches on the Athena Academy and the Graystone home. Sam waits patiently for his moment to kill Amanda, but Joseph is slowly overcome with regret for calling in the hit on her. Quote Ruth: You think you only get things from friends? Summary To continue her goal of obtaining Zoe's avatar, Clarice carries on her friendship with Amanda who is being haunted by visions of her dead brother. Heracles guides Joseph through the hazards of New Cap City. Zoe and Lacy continues their respective efforts to get the U-87 to Gemenon while Daniel is still being pressured by Vergis to sell the Caprica Buccaneers to help work on the meta-cognitive processor. Summary Daniel highly suspects that the Zoe avatar he thought was lost is still in the Cylon Prototype, so he puts the robot through a series of tests, hoping that it will lead Zoe to reveal herself to him. Joseph ventures further into the gritty world of New Cap City to find Tamara. Quote Cerberus: As the gods overthrew the titans, so has man overthrown the gods.
