Michelle Forbes (born 8 January 1967) is an American film and television actor.

Born in Austin, Texas, Forbes was a regular cast member of the long-running soap opera, The Guiding Light from 1987 to 1989. Not long after, in 1991, Forbes gained popularity in the science fiction community with her recurring role in Star Trek: The Next Generation for her portrayal of Ensign Ro Laren.

After Star Trek, Forbes has guest-starred in many roles in television, including starring and guest roles on Homicide: Life on the Street, 24, Alias, Prison Break and Boston Legal (starring Star Trek original series cast member William Shatner) . Forbes has also taken on a voice acting role in the video game Half Life 2, playing the character Dr. Judith Mossman.

Forbes portrayed Admiral Helena Cain, the iron-fisted, draconian Colonial commander in "Pegasus", and the two-part episode, "Resurrection Ship".

Quotes

  • About her character on "Battlestar Galactica" (TV Zone Magazine, January 2005):
I tend to play a lot of authoritative, strong women, so initially this simply wasn't something I wanted to do. God bless them, though, for being so pursuant of me. The Galactica producers sent me a set of DVDs, because I had never seen the show, either. Galactica is amazingly good and well written. I shudder to think I almost lost out on working with those wonderful people and on such a powerful story.
