DRADIS readout during the Battle of the Ionian Nebula (TRS: "He That Believeth in Me").

During the Battle of the Binary Star System Yellow Squadron is the wireless callsign of a Viper squadron sortied by Pegasus. It is shown on the DRADIS screen participating in the battle. Together with Blue Squadron it is presumably led by Kara "Starbuck" Thrace [1] (TRS: "The Captain's Hand").

Yellow Squadron also appears on Galactica's DRADIS during the Battle of the Ionian Nebula (TRS: "He That Believeth in Me").

  • In a "A Day in the Life", Lee Adama orders his pilots to do flying and landing exercises, dividing them into red, blue, yellow and green "sections".

Notes

edit
  • Originally it seemed that Yellow Squadron could be a standing squadron on Pegasus (similar to the naming scheme of the Original Series). However, later the terms Red and Blue Squadron are used for widely different units, which are led by different people. This suggests that it is merely a callsign to identify the squadrons on the wireless and DRADIS.

  1. After Starbuck assigns Red and Blue Squadron, she says "the rest follow me", which could indicate that she leads both of them, although they are only identified on DRADIS.

Additional Information

The Yellow-hulled Vessel[1] was a transport ship in the Twelve Colonies.

At least three such vessels survived the initial attacks, but one was left behind to be destroyed by the Cylons. The two FTL-capable ones are part of the Fleet (TRS: "Act of Contrition", "Six Degrees of Separation" and "Flesh and Bone").

One of the vessels was also seen orbiting Cloud 9 when Gina Inviere's nuclear bomb destroyed the luxury liner and three surrounding vessels, including the vessel itself; the explosive force having pushed out from Cloud 9 and striking a Colonial Movers ship, and then striking both the Yellow Vessel and a Long-Necked Vessel. Both were destroyed instantly (TRS: "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II").

The second survives beyond the exodus from New Caprica (TRS: "The Son Also Rises") and the Battle of the Ionian Nebula. It is later flown into Sol following the discovery of second Earth (TRS: "Daybreak, Part II").
