A laser generator is the primary component of the Viper's laser weapon system.
In order to make room for the second pulse generator for all of Starchaser's engines, the laser generator is removed, thus removing the defensive capabilities of the Recon Viper (TOS: "The Long Patrol").
Notes
- The laser pump is probably a component of this generator.
