The Valkyrie is issue #17 from Eaglemoss' Battlestar Galactica: The Official Ships Collection, a series of collectible models from the Battlestar Galactica multiverse.

Description

A relic of the Cylon War, the Valkyrie needed constant upgrades over its five decades of service to remain useful as a part of the Colonial Fleet. This venerable Battlestar was finally destroyed in the Fall of the Twelve Colonies.

One of the first dozen Battlestars constructed in the Cylon War, the Valkyrie was heavily damaged in the closing years of that conflict. The Cylons assumed the Valkyrie to be destroyed – a fact the Colonial Fleet used to its advantage by hiding it in deep space under radio silence, where it would form part of the Ghost Fleet Offensive.

Under the command of Commander William Adama, the Valkyrie was used in a black-ops mission to probe the Armistice Line for Cylon military build-up. Two years later, when the Cylons finally attacked, the Valykrie had been relegated to a patrol ship. Pinned down by Cylon hacking, the venerable battlestar was finally destroyed. This highly detailed, hand-painted model measures a mighty 27cm long and comes with a fully illustrated 16[1] page magazine covering the history and the design of the Valkyrie, and the post-Fall fleet.
