Brady Schlecker is a Canadian actor and entrepreneur who portrays an angry man in the crowd at the MAGLEV Bombing Memorial Service in the Caprica episode "Rebirth."[external 1] Born in Whitehorse, Yukon, Schlecker pursued acting alongside a career as a firefighter before transitioning into entrepreneurship and university administration.[external 2]

Early Life and Education

Schlecker was born in Whitehorse, Yukon. He attended high school in Germany before returning to Canada to study at Trinity Western University in Langley, British Columbia, graduating in 2010.[external 2] He later earned an MBA from the same institution, where his graduate coursework allowed him to develop a business plan for a startup company called WorldTribe Media.[external 3]

Acting Career

Schlecker began acting in Vancouver-based film and television productions in the mid-2000s while simultaneously working as a firefighter, a dual career he maintained for close to ten years.[external 4]

His television credits include playing Officer #1 in the USA Network series Psych (2006),[external 5] Henders in the Season 4 episode "Till We Have Built Jerusalem" of The 4400 (2007),[external 6] and Frank O'Brien in the Season 4 episode "Yellow Fever" of Supernatural (2008).[external 7] He also appeared in The Killing (2011), as Lead MP in two episodes of Fringe (2012), and as a Prison Guard in Fairly Legal (2012).[external 8]

In the 2010 Caprica episode "Rebirth," Schlecker appears as an angry man in a crowd scene set at the MAGLEV Bombing Memorial Service, alongside fellow extra Mario Casoria.[external 1] The episode, which served as the series premiere following the Caprica pilot , dealt with the political and social fallout from the bombing of a MAGLEV train on Caprica.

Short Films

Schlecker's film work includes roles in the short films Congestion of the Brain (2007), Not Another Damn Musical (2009), and He Loves Me (2011).[external 9]

Post-Acting Career

After leaving the fire service, Schlecker pursued his MBA at Trinity Western University and founded WorldTribe Media, a startup recognized for innovation that received funding for its work on Counter/Story, an educational project.[external 10] He was subsequently hired as Executive Director of the TWU Alumni Association, a position announced by the university's Board of Directors in conjunction with TWU President Bob Kuhn.[external 11]

Personal Life

Schlecker is married to Christie Buono Schlecker, daughter of former BC Lions head coach Wally Buono. Christie serves as Senior Sales Manager of Corporate Partnerships and Suites for the BC Lions organization.[external 12]
