Career
editBorn in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Katie Keating began her acting career as a child performer. [external 1] Her first credited role was in the 2000 Canadian drama Suspicious River under the stage name "Mary-Kate Welsh." [external 1]
Keating's most notable early role came in 2005 when she appeared as Alice in the supernatural thriller The Exorcism of Emily Rose, starring Laura Linney and Tom Wilkinson. [external 2] The film, directed by Scott Derrickson, was based on the true story of Anneliese Michel and became a notable entry in the supernatural horror genre. [external 3]
