Connor Widdows (born January 27, 1992[1]) is a Canadian actor who portrayed Boxey in the Re-imagined Series.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia[1], Widdows' mother, Kathleen Widdows[1], is a television commercial casting director; his father is Robert Widdows[2]. He also has a sister, Sarah Widdows[1], who has worked in movies as well, such as The Butterfly Effect.
Widdows began his career at age 6, after asking his mother if he could audition for commercials.[2] After appearing in a few commercials, he began working in film and television, appearing in such shows as Harsh Realm, Millennium, Dark Angel, and First Wave (with Sebastian Spence). In addition to his television credits, he has a small recurring role in X-Men 2 and X-Men 3: The Last Stand, in addition to the first two Agent Cody Banks movies, where he played Alex Banks.
On Battlestar Galactica
Widdows was cast as the re-imagined version of Boxey, an orphan of the Fall. He described his experience on the show as fun, particularly enjoying the sets. "The best part of this show was meeting the cast and crew, who are all really, really nice," he stated. "The sets are also so cool. It’s really fun to be inside the spaceship."[Book 1]
Although the character was intended to be a mischievous "Artful Dodger-type," the writers found it difficult to integrate him into the series' increasingly dark storylines, and his role was eventually phased out.[Book 2]
