Christian Vincent is an Emmy-nominated Canadian-American actor, dancer, and choreographer who portrayed a Male Dancer at Mysteries in Caprica's "Ghosts in the Machine".[external 1]
Career
editVincent was born on February 9 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.[external 2] He attended Sandwich West Public School in LaSalle, Ontario,[external 3] and graduated cum laude from Butler University with a BFA degree.[external 4] He later earned an MFA in dance from the University of California, Irvine in 2015.[external 5]
Dance
editVincent toured and performed with numerous artists, including Madonna (as dance captain for the Drowned World tour), Prince, Britney Spears, Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Ricky Martin, Stevie Wonder, Chayanne, Mandy Moore, Geri Halliwell, Macy Gray, and Ashanti.[external 6] He has appeared as a dancer in films including She's All That (1999), The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas (2000), Rent (2005), Starsky & Hutch (2004), and G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013).[external 7]
His television dance work includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Arrested Development, Baywatch, MADtv, The George Lopez Show, Cold Case, and Dancing with the Stars.[external 8]
Early Influences
editVincent's mother introduced him to music at an early age, noting his innate response to dance.[commentary 1] At age three, he attended an Earth, Wind and Fire concert, dancing so enthusiastically that he dirtied his white socks.[commentary 2] His mother enrolled him in dance lessons, inspired by tap dancers Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr.[commentary 3]
At age twelve, Vincent attended his first dance convention (Tremaine Dance Convention), where he declared his intention to become a dancer.[commentary 4] In the interview, he stated: "The dance convention consisted of faculty members/dance educators that were working with the artists I admired. I instantly knew that I wanted to move to Hollywood and dance."[commentary 5]
Acting
editVincent is best known for his role as Ricky Davis in the Logo series Noah's Arc (2005-2006), the follow-up film Noah's Arc: Jumping the Broom (2008), and subsequent franchise entries.[external 9] He starred in the Hallmark film A Majestic Christmas (2018) and appeared in The Power (2023) on Amazon Prime.[external 10]
His other television credits include Smallville, Fringe, Continuum, and The Wedding Planners.[external 11] Film roles include Center Stage: Turn It Up (2008), 500 Days of Summer (2009), and Fallen (2006) as Michael the Archangel.[external 12]
