This page is one of Battlestar Wiki's many projects.
This page serves to coordinate discussion on a particular aspect of this Wiki. The formal recommendations of a project may be treated as policies.

The Original Series Article Development Project is a long-winded title for a fairly large project to develop articles relating to the original Battlestar Galactica.

Reasoning

Currently, much of our attention is directed at providing information to the current Battlestar Galactica series. While the articles relating to that series are very well developed, the area of the original series remains lacking in comparison. This was noted by Spencerian on the Wiki's general talk page, which said, in part:

... BSG Wiki has one Achille's Heel; the comparative lack of information on the Original Series pages as opposed to the Re-imagined Series is almost shameful ...

Therefore the drive into creating content for the original series should be a concern. Obviously, this is a voluntary effort, but any fans of the original series who wish to contribute are welcome to focus their efforts in creating articles related to the original Battlestar Galactica. (It also gives us something to do while awaiting the January airing of the second half of Season 2.)

To-Do List

Article Creation and Enhancement

Of course, please feel free to list pages that need to be worked on below.

Images

Many of the pages relating to the original series require images, particularly episode guides.

The following list contains ALL articles in the TOS category that are not figures of speech, units of measure, resources, etc, that lack pictures.

Misc Items

  • Ambrosa - need a picture of it, preferably in a glass.
  • Book of the Word - may be Mentioned-Only, but need to confirm this
  • Boroton - fire in space?
  • Energizer - if it is shown during Magnificent Warriors
  • Fumarello - a pic of the mentioned scene from Lost Planet II
  • Glaiders - Lost Warrior
  • Grog - Saga of a Star world, perhaps ("hope it's the grog talking")
  • Hydronic mushies - Long Patrol (aboard the Rising Star on one of two of Starbuck's simul-dates)
  • Inter-Fleet Broadcasting - a capture of one of the interview shots
  • Laser pistol - a pic. (also, there's a schematic floating around, but I'd like to find one we can use)
  • Lupus - Lost Warrior
  • Military Ranks (TOS) - could use some color
  • Numo - from Lost Warrior
  • Scanner - in conjunction with Core Command, maybe the "status" readout with ranks from Long Patrol, and some other readings. See the Raider (TOS) article for a Scanner readout of a Raider as displayed from Core Command. Also need to get the quote from Komma from Murder on the Rising Star about "an 'old-fashioned' keyboard and scanner".
  • Season 1 (1978-79) - some image for the upper right
  • Star of Kobol - from Take the Celestra's presentation to Kronus?
  • Strider - from Lost Warrior (no LOTR references?)
  • Sublight Propulsion - picture of fleet moving slowly together?
  • Thousand-Yahren War - pic from the battle of cimtar?
  • Triad - picture from one of the Triad matches (War of the Gods (Part I or II), Murder on the Rising Star)
  • Turbodyne - picture from "Take the Celestra" (big yellow machine?)
