*In [[Exodus, Part I]] it was mentioned that the Cylons are stretching their resources thin. I suspect that the Cylons are at either in a civil war (likely between the earlier and later models, although possibly between two divergent branches) or at war with some other civilization. It is likely that this will result in either transmission to the nearest resurrection facility with an appropriate body (either on the Cylon homeworld or in one of the hypothetical Final Five fleet's resurrection ships) or the boxing of the consciousness and an error message transmitted up the Cylon hierarchy. -- 01:23, 18 May 2007 (CDT)

Speculation on Battlestar Galactica (RDM)

This page contains possible spoiler information!
This page contains spoilers regarding an unaired episode or published work, which may have an effect on your viewing. Please DO NOT read any content from this article if you wish to avoid knowing events before they are aired or published. Also keep in mind that information based on preliminary reports is subject to change and may differ from what is aired later.

Plausible speculation

  • It appears that, in season 3, everything that's happened to Baltar since his election has served (from a dramatic or storytelling perspective) to strip away his arrogance. Particularly the suicide attempt provoked by internal Six in Taking a Break From All Your Worries. -- 21:08, 30 January 2007 (CST)
  • In Exodus, Part I it was mentioned that the Cylons are stretching their resources thin. I suspect that the Cylons are at either in a civil war (likely between the earlier and later models, although possibly between two divergent branches) or at war with some other civilization. I suspect that they destroyed the Twelve Colonies because they were paranoid about the possibility of fighting a war on two fronts. -- 21:56, 30 January 2007 (CST)
  • The five priests of the One Whose Name Cannot be Spoken aren't the final five, but they may have been the previous cycle's equivalent of Cylons. -- 00:43, 1 February 2007 (CST) (correct)
  • Apparently four of the final five will be revealed in the season finale. If Baltar is a Cylon, I strongly suspect that he will be convicted, executed and then wake up in a Cylon rebirthing tank surrounded by three other Cylon models. -- 02:00, 5 February 2007 (CST) false
    • If he is not a Cylon, Baltar will survive due to acquittal, a jailbreak, bribes or extortion. -- 02:21, 20 March 2007 (CDT) (true, except possibly the "not a Cylon" part)
  • Although they can produce spare bodies, the humanoid Cylons lack the technology to produce new humanoid models, and may even be unable to make more copies of existing models. -- 16:10, 3 March 2007 (CST)
  • Starbuck is a Cylon. -- 22:45, 6 March 2007 (CST)
  • Based on his accent in the preview, Romo Lampkin is probably from Aerelon. (Not quite refuted in Sine Qua Non, he could've emigrated from Aerelon like Baltar). -- 23:39, 10 March 2007 (CST)
  • Ronald D. Moore has stated that there are already hints in aired episodes pointing to the last member of the final five. Based on this statement, I believe that, as of Crossroads, Part II, the only three remaining Cylon candidates are Gaius Baltar, Kara Thrace and Laura Roslin. -- 00:52, 28 March 2007 (CDT) (Roslin's been eliminated by the Frak Party podcast)
  • If one of the Final Five dies, their consciousness will be transmitted to the nearest Resurrection Ship.
    • Moot as of the Hub, although they could have their own resurrection network. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Gina's "Trust me, in the end, we're all just human" line from Razor is extremely significant. -- 00:57, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
    • Supported by dialogue in the Hub. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • The Guardians are still around. -- 00:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
  • The Ones, Fours and Fives will be boxed. -- 00:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
    • After the Threes are unboxed (which has already been revealed in spoilers), the other models may be unboxed due to Natalie's faction comprising a larger voting bloc. -- 00:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Boomer will join Natalie's faction. -- 03:22, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Not quite disproven yet, she could've made it out. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC) (and she did)
  • One of the Final Five, probably Galen Tyrol, will make at least one suicide attempt. -- 23:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Arguably correct, Tigh's behaviour in Revelations was suicidal. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • One of the Final Five will die. -- 23:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
  • The Thirteenth Tribe is the tribe of Ophiuchus / Serpentarius. -- 04:32, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Based on some scenes in The Hub and Caprica-Six's pregnancy Sine Qua Non, Helo is now a Cylon candidate. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • The love requirement is a failsafe to prevent Cylons from breeding in the wrong circumstances. -- 02:57, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
  • The Resurrection Hub is irreplacable because it was already complete when the Significant Seven went online and they don't know the details of its' construction. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC) (confirmed in No Exit)
  • Even if the Final Five lack numbers, there is or was a Number Seven. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC) (confirmed in No Exit)
  • D'Anna only asked for four of the Final Five because the last Cylon was among those on the Basestar at the start of Revelations. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • D'Anna only asked for four of the Final Five because she doesn't know who the last Cylon is. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • D'Anna only asked for four of the Final Five because she unknowingly killed the last Cylon, probably on New Caprica. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Cavil's faction will find Earth. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • The Ones will not believe that Natalie's faction has identified four of the Final Five. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
  • The Thirteenth Tribe had a civil war on Earth. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC) (correct)
  • There are survivors of the Thirteenth Tribe on Earth, but they are in a dark age. -- 06:56, 14 June 2008 (UTC) (wrong)
  • The Music was coming from Starbuck's Viper. -- 03:18, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Ben Stark, Tamara Adama and Zoe Graystone are still around in some form. -- 06:49, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Based on The Face of the Enemy and the some of the clips from YooWillKnowTheTruth, Gaeta is also a likely Cylon candidate. -- 02:34, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
  • The Hybrids are the Sevens. -- 02:34, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
  • The Ones wiped out the old Centurions. -- 03:53, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
  • The other Cylon faction has been taking some Twos, Sixes and Eights as prisoners. -- 03:53, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
  • The Ones are responsible for modern Cylons' reproductive difficulties. -- 02:20, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
  • The Cylon rebels will win by telling the Fours and Fives what we've known about the Ones since No Exit. -- 02:20, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
    • Cavil will respond with an unsuccessful attempt to spin his secret actions as being in the best interests of the species. -- 02:20, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Wild speculation

  • If Baltar is not one of the Final Five then he's half-Cylon like Hera, which would push the origin of humanoid Cylons back by 2 or 3 decades. -- 00:43, 1 February 2007 (CST) (more plausible now that the origin of the humanoid Cylons has been pushed back to the Cylon war)
    • If Baltar is half-Cylon, the most likely candidate for his father is Saul Tigh, as he is old enough and from Aerelon. -- 04:14, 28 March 2007 (CDT)
    • Kara is also a likely half-Cylon candidate. -- 02:34, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
  • If the Cylons have an equivalent of the Imperious Leader, it is probably a network of Hybrids and similar Cylon supercomputers, however most short-term decisions are delegated to the humanoid models. -- 02:07, 6 February 2007 (CST)
    • The Cylons may also have a collective consciousness. A distributed network based on swarm intelligence, connected thorugh the datastream. The network as a whole may not be sane, and may not even be self-aware. Internal Six, Internal Baltar and Kara's dreams and hallucinations of Leoben may be subroutines of the Cylon network. -- 22:45, 6 March 2007 (CST) (more plausible after the events in Crossroads, which suggest some form of involuntary or subconscious communication)
  • Baltar died in the nuclear blast on Caprica, got resurrected and subconsciously blocked out the memories which contradicted his cover identity. -- 01:38, 28 February 2007 (CST) (increasingly unlikely, but not quite ruled out yet)
  • In at least some of the previous cycles the Cylons (or their conterparts) wiped out the humans of the Twelve Colonies (or their counterparts) and interbred with the humans of Earth. Every modern human has at least a small amount of Cylon (or Cylon counterpart) ancestry. -- 01:48, 28 February 2007 (CST)
  • Of the Final Five, at least one is obvious (such as Baltar or Starbuck), one is unexpected (such as an Adama, Saul Tigh or Cally), one is unheard of (a new character) and one was presumed dead (such as Kat, Ellen Tigh or Billy Keikeya). There could be some overlap between the categories. -- 00:31, 2 March 2007 (CST) (so far we've got Saul Tigh, who is unexpected, and Galen Tyrol, who is both obvious due to The Eye of Jupiter and Rapture and unexpected because he has a child, if Kara Thrace is a Cylon she would count as both obvious and presumed dead)
  • Maelstrom will have a scene in which Starbuck wakes up in a rebirthing tank and kills Leoben, although it may be in a dream. -- 00:34, 2 March 2007 (CST) False
  • As the "chosen one", Baltar was destined to see the final five in the Temple of Five. Number Three managed to usurp his destiny, with significant consequences. This means that The Cycle of Time is not absolute and destiny can be resisted, although not without a cost. -- 00:52, 10 March 2007 (CST)
    • Fighting destiny will be a major theme of season 4. -- 23:04, 20 April 2007 (CDT)
      • Kara Thrace will ultimately reject her destiny. -- 02:14, 8 November 2007 (CST)
  • There is at least one Saul Tigh copy in the fleet with a younger, more recently grown body. -- 04:14, 28 March 2007 (CDT)
  • All twelve of the humanoid Cylon models were around during the Cylon War, and some or all of them may have been around earlier. Saul Tigh is part of the first "production run", most of the other copies we've seen (and most of the humanoid Cylon population) were "mass produced" a few years prior to the invasion, and Galen Tyrol, Samuel Anders and Tory Foster were created during or slightly before the pre-invasion "production run". These "Cylon elders" from the early production run(s) are likely candidates for the Cylon leadership. -- 04:14, 28 March 2007 (CDT)
  • Laura Roslin is a Cylon, but is not one of the Twelve. Either she is a prototype, in which case her declining health is due to design flaws, or she is a Cylon from the previous cycle, in which case her declining health is due to mutations accumulated over dozens of generations of cloning. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Based on the preview for Revelations, William Adama could be a Cylon. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC) false
  • The Hybrids are the Sevens, the unrevealed Final Five model. -- 01:06, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Kara Thrace is the dying leader. -- 22:56, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
  • There is a Cylon version of William Adama. -- 06:49, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
    • And the original William Adama died during or before the Cylon War. -- 06:49, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Pythia was a member of the Thirteenth Tribe. -- 00:33, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
    • Pythia is one of the Final Five. -- 06:15, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
    • The Hybrids are based on Pythia's genetic template. -- 06:15, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

    • The Eights is Athena. -- 06:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
    • Saul Tigh is Ares. -- 06:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
    • If Kara Thrace is a Cylon, she is Aurora. -- 06:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
    • If Gaius Baltar is a Cylon, he is Hephasteus. -- 06:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
  • The sacrifice of the tribes' leaders in the Tomb of Athena was part of the peace settlement at the end of the war on Kobol. -- 06:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
  • The warning that any return to Kobol would exact a price in blood refers either to Kobol being irradiated when it was abandoned or to a settlement between the factions in the war on Kobol forbidding any side from returning. -- 06:58, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
  • The Final Five ended the first Cylon War. -- 00:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
  • The Significant Seven were created from DNA samples of Thirteenth Tribe Cylons. (plausible, we know that the Ones are based on Ellen's father) -- 00:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
    • There was supposed to be a Number Seven, but the DNA samples were insufficent. (close, Cavil corrupted the Sevens' genetic template) -- 00:30, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Hybrid prophecy speculation

  • "But in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of one splintering into many." refers to the Cylon civil war. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Sin refers specifically to both sides compromising their principles. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • "And then, they will join the promised land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning." refers to humanity, the Significant Seven and the Final Five following Kara to Earth and forging an awkward peace. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • "They must not follow her." could refer to Kara's disappearance between Maelstrom and Crossroads, or to how the fleet following Kara could've ruined the tentative alliance with Natalie's faction. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • "End" does not refer to destruction, it refers to the end of the journey, or the end of an era. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Kara's role as the "harbinger of death" is much better than it sounds. It could refer to Kara's role warning others of some impending catastrophe, it could also refer to how Kara's return coincided with the return of Roslin's cancer. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Kara's role as the herald of the apocalypse refers to how her return coincides with the awakening of four of the Final Five and the return of Roslin's visions. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • The one reborn is Kara Thrace. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
  • The "missing three" refers to the Ones, Fours and Fives, in other words, the Significant Seven will find the Final Five after the end of the Cylon civil war. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC) false
  • In addition to referring to Earth and the Thirteenth Tribe, "the thirteenth" also refers to another Cylon or pseudo-Cylon model. -- 05:15, 16 May 2008 (UTC) (possibly correct, the thirteenth tribe were Cylons)
  • "Enemies now joined as one. The way forward at once unthinkable, yet inevitable." and "You will lead them all to their end." refers to generations of human-Cylon crossbreeding eventually making everyone part-Cylon. -- 00:22, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Joke theories

    • Virtual Six will go crazy if she hasn't already. -- 01:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

    • The unnamed female Baltar aides / interns / groupies from Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II are dead. -- 01:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Tracey Anne is doomed. -- 01:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Tory Foster is going to die and probably take out a lot of others with her. Fortunately for her, she'll probably get better. -- 01:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
    • When Baltar got stabbed by Gaeta, it could've been his bad karma arcing back to him. Gaeta's loss of a leg could also be a non-lethal manifestation of the curse. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
    • Baltar bled bad karma all over Roslin in The Hub. -- 07:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Cally Tyrol is too cute to die. -- 01:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
    • Cally is too cute to stay dead, therefore Cally is a Cylon, therefore Galen Tyrol cannot be Nicholas Tyrol's real father. Since she went crazy and then died horribly, the real father is probably Baltar. -- 03:00, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
      • Two words: virtual Cally. -- 01:12, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

    • Right now, the most likely candidate is Kara / Leoben. -- 01:12, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Caprica-Six / Tigh is also likely. -- 01:12, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
    • Looking doubtful after No Exit's revelations about Ellen and Cavil. -- Gordon Ecker 03:53, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Season 4 will introduce an average of at least 0.5 squick-inducing canon pairings per episode. -- 00:24, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
    1. Helena Cain / Gina Inviere (Razor).
    2. Gaius Baltar / Tory Foster (Six of One) (it's fine now, but it was creepy at the start).
    3. Sharon "Boomer" Valerii / Cavil (hinted in Six of One, confirmed in The Ties That Bind).
    4. Natalie / unnamed other Six (Faith).
    5. Caprica-Six / Saul Tigh (hinted in Escape Velocity, confirmed in Sine Qua Non)
    6. Karl Agathon / Boomer pretending to be Athena (Someone to Watch Over Me).
