Tim Aas (born Timothy Isaac Wheaton on September 24, 1983, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada) is a Canadian actor who portrayed the Scruffy Dude in Caprica's "Apotheosis".
Career
edit sourceAas's first credited screen role came in the crime drama Vendetta: No Conscience, No Mercy (2004), which played some pre-release screenings under its original title, Irish Eyes.[external 1] Billed under his birth surname as Tim Wheaton, he played Teen Thomas, the adolescent version of the film's central character.[external 2]
In 2006, Aas took on both on-camera and behind-the-camera work across three productions. He appeared as an uncredited Security Guard in the bilingual Quebec comedy Bon Cop Bad Cop,[external 3] served as an uncredited stand-in on the supernatural thriller The Covenant,[external 4] and worked as a photo double on the television movie Time Bomb.[external 5]
Aas's two most prominent screen credits both date to 2010. He was credited as Scruffy Dude in "Apotheosis," Caprica's series finale,[external 6] and he was one of several background performers credited as Parthenon Janitor in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief,[external 7] a scene filmed at the full-scale Parthenon replica in Nashville, Tennessee.[external 8]
His most recent credited screen appearance is as Policier SQ — a Sûreté du Québec officer — in the Quebec crime drama The Clan (2016), an Acadie-Québec co-production filmed largely in southeastern New Brunswick[external 9].[external 10]
Personal life
edit sourceAas was born Timothy Isaac Wheaton and grew up in Erbs Cove, New Brunswick,[external 11] graduating from Kennebecasis Valley High School in nearby Rothesay, New Brunswick, with the class of 2001.[external 12] He is the son of Mark Wheaton and Cristi Wheaton; his father is Canadian and his mother is Estonian, and Aas holds citizenship in both countries.[external 13] He has an older brother and a younger sister.[external 14]
