Battle Chronology | |||||||||||||||||||||

Coordinates psionically divined by Countess Sephoni purported to be those of Earth lead to the Colonial's introduction to the Cylons' super basestar, a ship strong enough to eradicate the rag-tag, fugitive fleet.
This marks the first encounter with the Cylons in two yahrens.
Cylons enact their plan to ensnare humanity by manufacturing psionic impressions of humans, which are sympathetically received by Countess Sephoni during her ten yahren separation from the fugitive fleet (Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #1-#3).
Following confirmation of these ersatz transmissions, Sephoni touches the mind of Xam, a latent Delta-class telepath who languishes in a coma aboard the battlestar Galactica following the Storm Zone Ambush (Classic Battlestar Galactica Vol. 2 #9, Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #2). Arising from this communication, Xam relays the coordinates to her ship, Taurella, to Captain Starbuck (Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #1).
With Countess Sephoni and Taurella's crew rejoining the Fleet, Commander Adama authorizes an recon patrol to coordinates Sephoni believes are of Earth. This patrol is lead by his only surviving son, Major Apollo, and two new Warriors, Zurel and Neats.
As they enter orbit of a moon-size planetoid, Zurel reports a ping on his magnetic sensor—a Cylon super basestar with thousands of Raiders in formation. Now aware of the trap they are ensnared, they attempt to flee.
Zurel is quickly destroyed, with Neats taking out two Raiders on Apollo's tail. Apollo orders Neats to hit her turbos before she herself is overcome.
Apollo's contacts Galactica to report on the trap before his Viper receives damage, and falls towards the small planetoid (Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #2).
The Cylons recover Apollo and nurse him back to health for unknown reasons, providing the opportunity for his rescue (Battlestar Galactica: Death of Apollo #3).
