Picon was the location for the Colonial Fleet Headquarters (Mini-Series), and as such came under heavy attack during the early stages of the Cylon attack.
Following the destruction of Fleet Headquarters, Admiral Nagala took direct command of the Colonial fleet from the Battlestar Atlantia, until that was destroyed (Mini-Series).
