Additional Information | |||
Galactica is one of a handful of combination warship/fighter carriers, known as battlestars, of the Twelve Colonies of Man.
After a thirty-yahren journey across a span of the universe to escape Cylon tyranny, Galactica is still in operation, protecting its Fleet of 220 civilian ships.[2]
Two areas of the vessel revealed are another hangar where Doctor Zee's antigravity spaceship is assembled, and a conference room where the various leaders of the Fleet meet.
A small command center is used as well as core command.[3]
Notes
- After the cancellation of the Original Series, it appears that most of its sets were dismantled and destroyed. As a result, possibly as a cost savings as well as practicality, the sets of Galactica 1980 are quite sparse. Most of the show's events occur on Earth, where 'sets' are less complicated since they used contemporary settings.
- In the Dynamite Entertainment Galactica 1980 #1 comic, Commander Adama and Galactica's crew fail in their attempts to establish contact with the humans of Earth in 1980 C.E. In a tactical blunder, Adama positions Galactica above the capital of the United States of America—the country responsible for launching the Voyager spacecraft—and is destroyed by nuclear warheads launched by said country.
