The Cylon Raider is the primary attack craft utilized by the Cylon Alliance.

The Raider is a deadly and versatile starfighter, typically manned by three Centurions, including a commander.[1] Raiders are deployed in massive numbers from Basestars to overwhelm their enemies, and they formed the bulk of the Cylon attack force that destroyed the Twelve Colonies ((Comics1999 Tourbook)).[2]

While formidable in large numbers, individual Raiders can sometimes be confused by unexpected or unconventional tactics employed by skilled Colonial Warriors like Starbuck ((ComicsFear of Flying)).[3] Certain Raiders are piloted by a single, highly advanced Cylon, such as those Centurions converted from humans. As such, Raiders piloted by these enhanced Centurions demonstrates superior combat capabilities, including the ability to anticipate standard Colonial Viper maneuvers ((ComicsCenturion Prime)).[4]

Technology

It is also equipped with an auto-landing sequence that engages if the pilot ejects ((ComicsCenturion Prime)).[4]
