Zac is a Colonial Warrior and the younger son of Commander Adama, and the youngest brother of Apollo and Athena.
As a young and eager warrior about to embark on his first mission, he has a vision where he is visited by mysterious, glowing beings.[1] These beings show him visions of the past and future, including the destruction of the Twelve Colonies, the flight of the human fleet, and his own destiny as a great warrior ((Comics: Eve of Destruction)).[2]
The beings tell Zac that he will "fly higher and faster" than his friends, but that his time with them will be short. They also show him a vision of his own death, but assure him that he will be a "great warrior" and that his sacrifice will be a noble one ((Comics: Eve of Destruction)).[3]
Despite these premonitions, Zac proceeds with his patrol mission. He is ambushed by a Cylon squadron and is killed in the ensuing battle. His death is a pivotal event, as it is the first act of the Cylon's surprise attack on the Colonies, which leads to the destruction of the human race's homeworlds ((Comics: Eve of Destruction)).[4]
His brother, Apollo, later has a flashback to his brother's death following a later incident with Roz, which further emphasizes the emotional impact of Zac's loss on his family ((Comics: Centurion Prime)).[5]
