Battlestar Galactica: The Exhibition is a publicity display for both the Original Series and its re-imagined successor that opened on 23 October 2010 at the Experience Music Project | Science Fiction Museum (EMP|SFM) in Seattle, Washington, USA.
The exhibit will run at the EMP|SFM until 4 March 2012, and features a variety of props, costumes, and ships on display, in addition to interactive features and educational films.
Displays
Costumes
From the Original Series:
- The Imperious Leader costume (sans lizard-esque face mask) and original concept art from Jean-Pierre Dorléac.
- Female Warrior Uniform with jacket.
- Colonel Tigh's blue duty uniform with cape.
- Commander Adama's brown robe as seen in both the Original Series and the Galactica 1980 episode "The Return of Starbuck."
- Mostly complete Ovion costume from the pilot "Saga of a Star World" with original concept art.
- Gold Cylon Centurion costume.
From the Re-imagined Series:
- Admiral William Adama's duty blue uniform.
- Leoben Conoy's outfit as seen in "Flesh and Bone."
- Sharon "Athena" Agathon's outfit while imprisoned on Galactica.
- Number Six's red dress.
Props
From the Original Series:
- Cylon Laser Rifle
- Colonial Warrior helmet, likely modified for the Beings of Light "aura" effect and for later use on pilots who used Doctor Zee's synthesizer effect in Galactica 1980.
From the Re-imagined Series:
- Kara "Starbuck" Thrace's music notes from "Someone Watch Over Me," which were created by Bear McCreary.
- Non-functioning FN 5.7.
- Marine grenade.
- Kara Thrace's dog tags.
- Viper Mark II Flight Ops clipboard.
- William "Husker" Adama's vintage helmet as seen in "Razor."
Special Effects
- Shooting miniature of the forest dome from Silent Running, which had been later re-used in the Original Series as part of the agro ship.
Full-Size Ships
- The Cylon Raider full-size dummy craft created for "Act of Contrition" and seen throughout Season 1, and reused in "Hero" and "Six of One."
- The Viper Mark II with functioning cockpit.
- The Viper Mark VII with functioning cockpit, and the only full-sized version made.
Reproductions
- An authentic reproduction of the battlestar Galactica from the Original Series.
Education Films
The various films feature:
- Glen A. Larson, creator, executive producer and writer of the Original Series.
- Richard Hatch, actor who portrayed Captain Apollo in the Original Series and Tom Zarek in the Re-imagined Series.
- Ronald D. Moore, executive producer, developer, and writer for the Re-imagined Series.
- David Eick, executive producer for the Re-imagined Series.
Interactive Kiosks
A variety of interactive kiosks are featured in the exhibit:
- The music interactive, which allows exhibition visitors to score an episode of the Re-imagined Series.
- Human/Cylon identity interactive, which determines whether or not you are a Cylon.
- Dilemma interactive, which tests visitors on how they would deal with an ethical dilemma from the Re-imagined Series.
