Cyrannus is the quaternary star group where the Twelve Colonies of Kobol are situated (Battlestar Galactica Deadlock).
The star group consists of four distinct stars (each one being called, and prefixed by, "Helios"): Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta.
Helios Alpha

Helios Alpha was the first of the quaternary systems to be settled[1] following the exodus from Kobol approximately 2052 BCH.
Much of the Cylon rebellion that would blossom into the First Cylon War had been contained to both Helios Alpha and Beta systems in the conflict's early years.[2]

Starlanes
Intersected between the various Helioses are planetoids in stable locations, which are FTL points and are considered the Starlanes of Cyrannus. None are deemed habitable by the Colonies as of approximately 52 BCH.
These planetoids are determined to be the least contested landmarks for jumps between Helioses, and become more critical supply lines for Colonial Fleet given the dismantling of the IDRIS network.
