Shaun Omaid is a Canadian actor, writer, and producer who portrayed Shaunt in the Re-imagined Series episode "He That Believeth in Me." Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, he has built a career spanning nearly two decades across television, film, short films, and stage, with credits on series such as Arrow, The Flash, Supernatural, and Bates Motel, as well as the feature film War for the Planet of the Apes (2017).

Early Life and Training

Omaid began acting at the age of 13 in his first drama class. He attended Simon Fraser University, where he earned a Certificate of Liberal Arts and pursued a major in Philosophy. His stage credits include working with Headlines Theatre under artistic director David Diamond, and performing in A Comedy of Errors with Bard on the Bandstand.

Beyond acting, Omaid is also a writer, having authored short stories, works of science fiction and fantasy, and screenplays. In 2011, he worked with Oxfam Canada to raise funds for the East Africa Crisis.

Career

Early Television Work

Omaid's earliest professional television credit came with an appearance on the TNT medical drama Saved, which aired for a single season of 13 episodes from June to September 2006. The series, created by David Manson and executive produced by Brian Grazer, starred Tom Everett Scott as a paramedic struggling with a gambling addiction.

Battlestar Galactica

In 2008, Omaid appeared in "He That Believeth in Me," the Season 4 premiere of Battlestar Galactica, directed by Michael Rymer and written by David Weddle and Bradley Thompson. He portrayed Shaunt, an associate of Charlie Connor (Ryan Robbins) who assists in an attempted assassination of Dr. Gaius Baltar (James Callis).

Subsequent Television and Film

Following his Battlestar Galactica appearance, Omaid worked steadily across Vancouver-based productions. In January 2012, he booked a role on Supernatural, which he described on his personal website as coming from a last-minute audition. That same year, he spent a week on the set of True Justice opposite Steven Seagal. He also landed a recurring role as a gun dealer on Red Widow (2013).

In 2013, Omaid appeared in two episodes of Arrow, playing a bouncer in "The Huntress Returns" (Season 1, Episode 17), and also had roles on Continuum and Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. In 2015, he portrayed Pierre on the A&E series Bates Motel.

Omaid's film credits include War for the Planet of the Apes (2017), in which he played a soldier credited as "Soldier Who Sees Ape," and Welcome to Marwen (2018), directed by Robert Zemeckis.

In 2021, Omaid returned to the Arrowverse as Jered Haywood in "Armageddon, Part 1" (Season 8, Episode 1) of The Flash.

Short Films and Writing

Omaid has also been active in short films both as an actor and writer. He co-wrote and starred in Tadwim (2021), playing a character named Tariq alongside Tarun Keram. Other short film credits include The King of Rats (2010) and Whole (2009).
