How about "celestial bodies" instead of "planets"? That way we can include the nebulae in as well. Just a thought... -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 16:08, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- Not a bad idea :) --Serenity 16:19, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- I'm not sure: one, it's not quite as catchy, two, the nebulae is a different sort of entity, being that people can set foot on all the planets (i.e. they're potential sites for action that aren't in the fleet). OTW 18:58, 5 December 2007 (CST)
- Well, the nebulae have been potential sites for action as well, as evidenced by the importance of the Lion's Head Nebula in "Torn" and "A Measure of Salvation". Also, the action at the end of "Crossroads, Part II" takes place in a nebula. Secondly, I'm not all that concerned with "catchy". (Technically, the template's name should be "Planets (RDM)" in keeping with the way we name things.) Third, "planet" is an inaccurate term to describe moons and even the asteroids. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 10:51, 6 December 2007 (CST)
- It sounds like you're describing places (as unsexy as that may sound)... --Steelviper 11:20, 6 December 2007 (CST)
- Right. Except "places" is far too general... then we'd get into specific places on planets: Breeder's Canyon, Pergamus Flats, Delphi, et al. What we're dealing with is astral bodies where action takes place. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 11:28, 6 December 2007 (CST)
- In my head at least I like the grouping that keeps all the places where the production crew pretend somewhere in British Columbia is on the other side of the galaxy in one group. Things like Nebulea, everyone's still in the ships rather than solid ground. (Basically, between here and Template:Ships every filming location is covered). Mneh, it's just the way I think, change it if you like. What could be done is have (in smaller text) expansions for the known locations on Caprica and New Caprica. OTW 12:03, 6 December 2007 (CST)

"Map" planets
Should we include the planets that appear exclusively on Quantum Mechanix's Map of the 12 Colonies?
I was thinking it could go a little like this:
Thoughts?--DrWho42 22:59, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- Keeping them separate from the canon planets sounds reasonable. However, I'm not sure that any of the planets (or other bodies) that exist solely on the map should get their own page. Except for the mining disaster on Troy that supposedly killed Boomer's parents, none of them have any story significance. That may change with Blood and Chrome, but for now, it might be better to keep this plan in reserve, and to note them on the main Twelve Colonies page. --BlueResistance 03:32, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
