John Tanner is the owner of Tanner Robogenics', and father of Benjmain, Greg, Melissa, and Tim.

Married to Eliza, Tanner is the creator of the AK series of robots, one of them being Isak -- who is programmed to protect Benjamin (Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War #1).

Tanner is affected by the Caprica-Sagittaron Conflict and outlives various other family members, including Tim and Gilbert Tanner (Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War #2).
